Business disputes
When the deal breaks, we settle it or take it to court
Most business fights end with a letter and a phone call. Some don’t. We prepare every one as if it might reach a judge, which is often why it doesn’t.
Customers who won’t pay
Demand letters, payment plans and collection suits for the money customers owe you.
Partner and shareholder splits
Buyouts, deadlocks and the partner who stopped showing up, worked out under the agreement you have or the law if you don’t.
Breach of contract
Vendors who didn’t deliver and customers who walked, from the first letter to trial.
Non-competes and trade secrets
For the company protecting its customers, or the owner being told they can’t open next door.
Lease disputes
Landlord and tenant fights over repairs, rent and early exits.
Mediation and arbitration
We represent you at the table when the contract sends the fight out of court.
Questions owners ask about business disputes
Is it worth suing over the amount I’m owed?
Sometimes not, and we’ll say so on the first call. We’ll walk through what the case would cost against what you’re likely to collect.
Someone sued us. What do we do first?
Note the date you were served and call us. Ohio courts set short deadlines to answer, and missing one can lose the case before it starts.
How do you charge for disputes?
By the hour, with a written estimate for each stage and a monthly bill that shows the work. Court costs and filing fees are billed at cost.
Served papers, or about to send some?
Call us with the dates. We’ll tell you what has to happen this week.
A first call doesn’t make us your lawyers; a signed engagement letter does.
