Outside general counsel
A lawyer on call, without the salary
For companies of five to fifty people with no lawyer on staff. One monthly fee, one lawyer who knows the business, and an answer within a business day.
The contract queue
Customer and vendor agreements reviewed as they come in, against the terms you’ve already agreed are fine.
Employment questions
Handbooks, hiring, firing and the email from an employee’s lawyer.
A quarterly check
An hour every quarter on what’s coming: a lease renewal, a new state, a hire, a sale.
Board and owner paperwork
Minutes, consents and the annual records lenders and buyers ask for.
First call on any dispute
We read the threat letter and tell you whether it needs a reply, a deal or a litigator.
A plan you can leave
Month to month, with a written list of what’s included and what’s billed separately.
Questions owners ask about outside general counsel
What does the monthly fee cover?
Each plan lists its hours and what’s inside them in writing. Work beyond that, like a lawsuit or a company sale, is quoted separately before we start.
Is this cheaper than hiring a lawyer in-house?
For most companies under fifty people, yes. Once you need a lawyer every day, we’ll tell you it’s time to hire one, and help you do it.
Who will we work with?
One of the three of us is your lawyer on the plan. The others step in for disputes or deals.
See whether a plan fits
A first call is enough to tell. We’ll send the plan options in writing.
A first call doesn’t make us your lawyers; a signed engagement letter does.
